At the advent of the 20th century, American watchmakers dominated the field, producing watches of superior craftsmanship, reliability and simplicity. 100 years later, the Montana Watch Company has re-established this commitment to quality with a truly unique American timepiece. The Montana Watch Company is committed to the time-honoured values of craftsmanship and handcrafts each timepiece in Livingstone, Montana.
Montana maintains a small inventory of watches but also undertakes private commisions - built to order as designed as you wish. The picture shows The Colt model; each case is machined from solid stock, grade 2 titanium, and engraved in the Western single-point style. The chiselled scrollwork is then dovetailed with a technique known as "back-cutting". 24K gold wire is pounded into the grooves with classic inlay relief. The case is finished by hand with emory and cloth polished. The case is carefully torched until it takes on the vintage gun-blue colour, then quenched in an oil bath for the final finish.
In the words of the Montana watchmaker: "From the halls of the governor's mansion to the wrists of local area ranchers, from the conference rooms of New York to the Hollywood hills, it is our mission to rekindle the spirit of the West and produce high quality American timepieces".
