Longines 2009 Les Elégantes

This year, Longines releases its Les Elégantes collection in oval, rectangular and almond-shaped, stylised silhouettes of the Three Graces. The 18 carat white gold cases whose entire sides have been hand-decorated with Art Deco motifs, are set with between 42 and 72 Top Wesselton WS diamonds. Delicate Roman numerals grace the silvered dial with blued hands and a railway-track minute ring completes the elegant aesthetic.

Longines has equipped this precious collection with an authentic hand-made and hand-wound movement dating from the 1970s. The Longines L805 calibre has 17 jewels and beats at 21,600 vibrations per minute. As is customary, production has been limited to only 20 examples of each of these three exquisite models.

Ladies' Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph
A new collection by Audemars Piguet will be presented at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva, from April 7-12, 2008: the Ladies' Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph and Lady Royal Oak in pink gold.

Audemars Piguet treats its Lady Royal Oak and Ladies' Royal Oak Offshore to the beauty of pink gold. Often used in ancient times to sheathe pyramids and obelisks, gold was considered the flesh of the gods, symbolising radiance and fertility. Stemming from a copper-rich alloy, it takes on shimmering rosy tints. The Lady Royal Oak and Ladies' Royal Oak Offshore watches, from the sportiest to the smartest, now come clothed in these warm, gentle shades, magnifying every moment and each occasion. To borrow the words of the great Edith Piaf song La Vie en Rose (Life in Pink), "worries and sorrows fade away". Each event is imbued with the silent message of precious objects: "a share of happiness", glowing softly on a woman's wrist.

Ladies' Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph
The Ladies' Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph combines gem-set pink gold with various subtle shades of white. Its rubber-moulded bezel and pushers echo the white rubber strap, while the magnificent dial is graced with a "Méga Tapisserie" guilloché engraved motif against a white mother-of-pearl background. This delightful visual effect is further enhanced by the collection's famous entirely diamond-pavé "strongbox" case. The splendid result is unmistakably contemporary and irresistibly elegant.

The second OMEGA limited edition model commemorating next year’s Olympic Games in Beijing will be launched on 25 October 2007, 288 days before the Opening Ceremony. The collection, based on the phenomenally successful OMEGA De Ville Co-Axial Chronograph Ladies’, comes in three colours alluding to the Olympic podium: yellow gold, white gold and red gold.

OMEGA and the Olympic Games have been inextricably linked for the past 75 years, ever since the famous Swiss watch company became Official Timekeeper to the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Next year will be the 23rd time OMEGA has taken on that responsibility, a tribute to its precision and reliability.
Now, in honour of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, OMEGA is unveiling a special collection of watches for distribution in China and certain selected OMEGA stores worldwide. The theme for OMEGA’s new collection revolves around the number “8”, considered a lucky one in China.

The collection was launched on 8 August this year with the Constellation limited edition, and following the launch of the three gold ladies’ De Ville chronographs there will be subsequent limited edition launches 188 days, 88 days and eight days before the Games, with the sixth and final launch on the day the Olympic Games begin, 08/08/2008. The number of models available in each limited edition varies, but the figure will always end in an “8”. Thus 288 of the new De Ville ladies’ watches have been made in each of the three colours.

Along with the white mother-of-pearl dial and alligator strap, the fundamental characteristics of the OMEGA De Ville Co-Axial Chronograph Ladies’ are all there: the 0.08-carat diamond briolette set on the crown; the polished 18-carat gold bezel set with 42 diamonds; the elliptical chronograph counters; the 35mm case; and the exclusive OMEGA Calibre 3313 with Co-Axial escapement.

But of course it is the differences that make this model part of the Beijing Collection. Whether yellow gold, white gold or red gold, each has 18-carat gold dial and hands to match the case; the hour markers are set with one, two or three diamonds; and there are gold outer rings on the counters and white Super-LumiNova on the hands. On the counterweight of the chronograph seconds hand are the five Olympic rings, while stamped on the caseback is the Beijing 2008 logo – both characteristics common to all six of the OMEGA Olympic Collection limited edition lines.

The third in the series, a special piece from OMEGA’s celebrated Seamaster collection, will be launched on 2 February 2008, 188 days before the Games.

jewellery watch“Magic Hour”.
Three ways to be worn, three styles to be shown, three moods to be expressed… the destiny of this magical and unique watch is to tell the story of our feminine inspirations.

For the very first time, thanks to an invisible mechanism developed in the secrecy of the Piaget workshops, a timepiece is endowed with the unique power to be three watches in one.

When positioned horizontally, the ellipse provides a generous dial opening with a free-spirited yet timeless style that exudes harmonious perfection. At a gentle touch, the oval swivels to take an impish break. The watch gracefully lends itself to a clever game of transformations that imbue it with a surprising and even disturbing charm. This creative model constantly hints at its original mystery. Sheer magic…
Another 45° turn and the watch reveals its diamond-set golden numerals and sparkles with dazzling radiance, transfigured into a stunning and exceptional jewellery watch: “Magic Hour”.

Thirty-six diamonds light up the opulent elliptical gem-set bezel that turns above a delicately guilloché-patterned dial.
Successively demure, unexpected or flamboyant, “Magic Hour” tunes into and reflects your changing moods. This unique model magnifies all aspects of femininity through a daringly avant-garde, elegant watch displaying inimitable creativity and proudly bearing the Piaget signature.

Magic Hour is interpreted through two variations: one on a black satin strap forming a striking contrast with the white gold case, and the other on a white satin strap softly enhancing the pink gold version.
